The steam needs half-life2 CD

I got a half-life 2 cd-key from my friend but he didn't give me a CD he told me to download from steam. So I typed a cd-key in steam. And the message said "You have to put half-life 2 retail standard CD/DVD." And I don't know what to do. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? ;(

u could go out and buy the game and not try to cheat ur way by useing ur freind's cd-key...
or you could use the cd-key that you paid for when you downlaoded the game off of steam...
some people are so stupid.

you need to get the cd from your friend. or just go buy the game you cheap-ass.

Buy the game off Steam and it will let you play without a CD.

Buy the game from the Store and you will need the CD while you play (NoCD cracks will get you banned AFAIK).
