Okay, in the first one, in the end it seems you were just being tested by the G-Man, and in the end you passed and were pretty much forced to take the job.

How do we know that, when they dropped you into city 17, that wasnt just a virtual reality type test? I wouldn't be surprised is Gordon in HL3 or w/e , wakes up from the test, and is sent on an actual mission by the G-Man and his employers.

oh man that scenario would be very dissappointing to me. i mean, then none of the events in hl2 would be real, just practice. what i think:
