First, hello to ya all.

I've been reading alot of theese topics since i started come here, first post tho.

but i really need to make something clear.
ppl tend to think that G-man is working with/for the combine, and some think hes from the future and knows whats going to habben...

thoose who has thoose theories most have forgotten bout fact ingame.

G-man take Gorden out of stasis to use him, to take out the citidal/Dr. Breen, that was what Gorden was meant to do, and he ended up back in stasis afterward.
So G-man truly aint working with or for the combine.

At start of Ep1 Gordens get pulled out of stasis by some vorticgaunts, and if u use ya eyes u can see that G-man gets surprised and really pissed off by it.
So he dont know whats going to habben in the future.

Well welcome to the boards and all, but I have to say I've never ever seen anyone say that they think the Gman is working with/for the Combine. Only that he might not be working in humanity's best interest. As for the 'from the future' idea - everyone already hates that theory, so join the club.

thanks, hmm, im pretty sure i?ve red that a few places.
maybe wasent here? know have anyhow.

and im from Denmark :bounce:

It's possible that the Gman is working for the Combine... now.

If you recall in Half-Life 2, like you seem to do so well, Breen say that your contract is "up to the highest bidder", implying the Gman is actually hiring out your services to whoever will pay. It also indicates that Breen knows. I don't think the Combine would pass up the offer for your services to aid them. From what I gather through playing Half-Life 2 and the Episodes, you have a contract set up with the Rebels from when you leave the train to when you destroy the citadel because you simply "appear" on the doorstep of the Rebels yet they still seem to anticipate you were coming. The Vortigaunts taking you away from the Gman at the end of Half-Life 2 indicates that your contract with them was up. Personally I think it was all arranged by Eli. He knew.

So it's possible that the Gman was going to start selling your services to the Combine, but it certainly wasn't the case in Half-Life 2.

If that's what he was referring to then I guess I have heard some people speculate about that... It's not a theory I at all subscribe to though.

That bold part, my friend really cleared up alot of things for me and actually made tons of sense =D

You've done so well, in fact, that I've received some interesting offers for your services.
Ordinarily I wouldn't contemplate them, but these are extraordinary times.
Rather than offer you the illusion of free choice, I will take the liberty of choosing for you...
if and when your time comes round again.

nah, first of all its not sure hes gonna use u again, and since the vortigaunts 'stole u from him at start of EP1, then IF the combine buyed ya services its first gonna be in HL3 or what will be HL4

but makes total sence if it was Eli who buyed ya services, he dont really seem be that surprices when u show up like the rest of em. and as he states in the end of EP2 there was a lot he would like to tell u.

How would that even work? Gman gets use out of Gordon by putting him in situations where Gordon believes he's fighting for himself, for his friends, or for humanity, while he's actually just doing exactly the Gman's secret bidding. Secret bidding.

How on earth would Gordon ever be explicitly convinced to do the Combine's dirty work? At most it would be something underhand, like coaxing Freeman into destroying the Borealis while it was actually a move that benefited the Combine. If Gordon was coerced he wouldn't be as effective, which would completely defeat the point of the Freeman war machine. Freeman is not an unscrupulous mercenary. Gman might be, but he still needs to pick Gordon's fights carefully; you will not be seeing HL3: Gordon's Adventures With the Combine.

I didnt say u would i was just trying to say that he cant be working for the combine, breen.
Breen havent paid for hes services at the end of HL2, he would like to but then he died.
after that, no one has buyed gordens services, since the vortigaunts 'steal you' from
G-man, and G-man cant really sell hGordens services if he dont have control over him.
the vortigaunt do.

I realize this moment may not be the most convenient for a heart-to-heart, but I had to wait until your...
friends were otherwise occupied.

this he says to Gorden when the vortigaunts are healing Alyx, witch make me believe that that G-man now are trying to get some benifits out of, that gorden aint in hes stasis.

G-man prolly dont want any to get their hands of what ever lies inside borealies.
witch he also show u and make Eli want you to destroy it.
but thats pure theory :stare:

Eli shouldn't have been surprised, since he knew you were coming anyway. He was told at the very start, and you spend the first few levels making your way to him. I suspect that as soon as Kleiner found out Freeman had returned, he told everyone he could to share the good news, so he wouldn't have been surprised when Kleiner mentioned Freeman was coming by the teleport.

was he?

i dont quite rember what Eli said, but what i rember is

Eli: that isent who i think it is, is it?
Kleiner: indeed...

so if u know that was said presice post it.
but from what i rember he didnt really seems that surpriced, maybe he was just trying to hide that he hired u.

I'd have thought that they only knew Gordon had arrived in City 17 after Barney met him at the train station and told Kleiner. If we take Blue Shift as canon, Barney would probably have known beforehand that Gordon would be arriving, since he's also 'employed' by the Gman. Eli and the others would probably not have known Gordon would be returning.

Quite the contrary. If you recall Blue Shift, Barney escaped Black Mesa and became "Out of range"

sry for my bad english.

and i was only 99% sure, since its been a very long time since i playd blue shift

Ah, alright. I probably should have checked Blue Shift first.
