Hello all and welcome to the first post of mine on this forum.
Before you guys get angry, I will admit something about this thread. It is an "easter egg" thread of sorts...only it's one of a different color. This thread is about the things that you cannot do with cheats while playing the game (obviously you will be doing this if you've already played the game a couple time through already).
After completing the game for the second time, I wanted to have a bit more fun. I love pinning people to walls and such and I wanted to see what it would be like to go through with all of the weapons and all. This thread is here for those that want to do the same and also want to know what problems you'll encounter along the way.
First off...you cannot pin spawned enemies to walls. Believe me, I've tried. If you guys can find a way to do so then please post it here.
Second, if you kill certain guards (such as the one that is to your immediate left as you enter the room that barney (in cognito as a combine soldier) takes you into during the opening sequence) the game will halt.
It is the second of the first two that this thread is addressing specifically, however, anything at all is welcome. Here is yet another thing that you cannot do with cheats on.
At the moment I am in Dr. Kleiner's lab with "impulse 101" activated. With this happening, you cannot put the suit on, thus halting the progress of the game (as an aside, you CAN kill lamar in this sequence and not experience any game halting consequences).
The last two are what this thread is targeting specifically, so that other will know when they can expect trouble with the game as well as fixes to getting around it. Also, it must be said that yes, I am cheating my way through the game, only this is the third time I've been through it. I must say, everyone should complete the game AT LEAST once without ANY cheats at all. I am doing this to simply liven the game up a bit. I just want to have fun this time through, that's all. Please don't post if this is against what you feel people should do. I realize some think that cheating (no matter how many times you've played the game) cheapens the game, however, this is not the case for me.
(easter egg note: If you don't put your suit on for awhile, Alyx will say "Alright, I won't look." I found this somewhat humorous.)
