This is cool: HL2 UPLINK!

Is it only a movie? Because 150 megabyte is too much just too see a trailer :p

But it's great to hear someone is remaking it!

Yeah, it's a movie.

Yes, but no patients.

Well we can't have any till we are qualified to be a doctor with our PHDs...however i do have little patience hehe

Whats in the movie, im too lazy as well

Is the Gargantua in the movie? He could ask the Black Mesa: Source team for their model :)

Good afternoon Dr. Harryz :p

May aswell download it, got nothing else to do with this darn internet :(

Edit - not the best video in the world, brought back a memory....

Come'on people stop being like jerks and watch the movie. Thank you DarkStar for informing me about this mod coming out! It really does look cool so far! :cheese:

i have seen a movie for this , but did not get it off of gamespy cause of the wait and slow connection to their site (even on my cable)

http://www.planetquake.com/booker/uplink/ is the official site.

I too am too lazy to download the video. Frankly, judging from the media, this isn't anything too special at all. The textures simply don't fit: that "lab" looks like a "lav". That place isn't a scientific institute, it looks like the changing rooms at my local swimming pool with a few sciency looking prefabs placed in it (or not as the case may be - where'd those barrels come from? Why is there a dumpster inside a science facility). The lighting is nothing to write home about either... in short, the character of the original levels seems to be lost, and if this is an attempt to translate it all to a more HL2 like setting (which it probably is), It still doesn't work.

It's not worth the download. You're right about it not having any of the character of the original.

Well c'mon guys! It's a work in progress.

Maybe I'm letting my love of UPLINK cloud my judgement, but I can't wait for this.

Is that 'cause you can't get it? Are you in a no broadband area?

I CAN HELP!

I just downloaded the movie, PLEASE DON'T download...

Its 150 mb for a 1 minute movie... What they show you is a conversation between Kleiner and Barney (with the voices from the old uplink) in a recreated map. No offence to the mod, it's a cool idea, but the movie is just crap and waste of 150 mb.

Not in my area yet, and i doubt you can help.

Not a bad idea, but the creator needs to sit down and draw out some proper design plans rather than just recreating the level brush for brush. Take advantage of the Source engine.
