This is just going to be short, and probably my only thread/post here...

Alright, for the most part, I thought HL2 was pretty good, although the storyline was a little bit weak. Having played the first game so many years ago and ranking it as the best FPS I ever played, I was expecting HL2 to live at least up to the first game, if not past it. Well, I played and finished HL2 and I have to say that it is pretty good, although lacking in some aspects. There are a few things, however, that I am wondering about the game now that i've completed it:

- Where was the sniper-rifle and various other guns that were originally supposed to be part of the game?
- Why couldn't you pick up bodies with the gravity gun?
- Alot of questions were left unanswered, will this come in HL3?

Now about what we might expect... does anyone here know what we will expect soon? Perhaps Valve will make various expansions for HL2 just like HL1? I would also like to know what's going on with Adrian Sheppard (the marine from OpFor) during the events of Half Life 2? Do you think they'll make an expansion with him in it?

* OICW probably would've turned out to pointless weapon. You've already got the Pulse Rifle and the SMG, maybe they found that the playtesters didn't use the OICW. Valve never (ever) said anything about a sniper Rifle.
* Erm, you could at the end.
* A lot of questions have answers if you look. Probably Half-Life 3 will ask more quesions than it answers. And I don't mind it that way.

It's interesting that your expectations of the game were that it would be the best FPS ever. No wonder you were slightly disappointed.

-the sniper rifle was replaced by the overwatch rifle. Use the crossbow for all your sniping needs.

-the gravity gun should in theory be able to pick up bodies. that would have made the game far too easy though. just use the 'organic mulipulator' (blue gravity gun).

-i believe a lot of answers will be given in hl3, but i suspect we will be left with more questions than answers.

about Adrian Sheppard, i don't know. i think that expansion was completely written by Gearbox software and sooo doesn't really have great importance as Valve didn't make it. perhaps there will be a sheppard exp, but maybe not. maybe he died in the 7hr war.

What sniper rifle? Valve never said anything about a sniper rifle.

To tell you the truth, I am actually alot more interested in Sheppard than Gordon Freeman...

I don't know why, maybe it's the fact that he's an army commando and not a dorky scientist nerd with glasses, but I was alot more interested in Sheppard's storyline in OpFor than Gordon's. I would also think that Sheppard's part in HL was pretty popular as well, so I think Valve should take that into consideration and use that to their advantage for HL2.

Now that I think of it, I should re-play OpFor....I just cannot remember what happens to Sheppard at the end with the G-man. Anyone want to tell me so that I can save myself the time of installing and playing it?

A bit dissappointed...

I expected much more. Too much hype maybe???
I really missed the OICW or a decent sniper wep. I mean, a crossbow with glow sticks for ammo??? It was cool to nail combines to the wall though.
***How come snipers never dropped their blue laser sighted rifles when snuffed? That was stupid.***
And why couldn't you just rip the Tau cannon (which was severely underpowered, if compared vs it's hl1 counterpart) from the buggy? [...sight]. Also, no trip mines??? !!!! And grenades had those stupid timers forced, so you couldn't have 'em blow on contact...

The amount of enemies was kinda lacking (but those damn fast zombies gave me the creeps).

Isn't it strange how similar the "Poison Crab Zombie" is to Halo's "Flood Spawner zombie"???? Then again, both crabs and flood are obvious ripoffs from 'Alien'. I also hate how they magically spawned in areas previously checked.

Another fault was the fact that you couldn't escape out of the story sequences. Wasn't that annoying?

...and Lamar DID screw up the Xen Emu device.

By the way, not including any sort of guide was obnoxiously cheap of Valve.
