Yea, i know what the definition is, but still, thats now how its used in daily conversation...
Um, well, anybody I've ever talked to has used it correctly in conversation. So you must be talking to some weird people :p. (Not just saying that to be annoying either or anything, honestly never really had people using it only as deaths in conversation before)

Wow thats pretty bad. Getting up to my cottage which is just south of Sudburry took an extra hour when we left on wednesday but that was due to construction and blasting mostly.

wow that's pretty far for a cottage ...how long does it usually take? almost 4 hours? the cottage I went to is near huntsville ...2.5 hours away ...which seems much longer with a restless infant and a skittish dog onboard ...cant tell you the amount of times we listened to the Wiggles during that trip ...enough to drive someone insane ...insane!

Ya its a 4 hour drive if there aren't any delays and then a 45 minute boat trip.
My parents still talk about the lengths they took to make sure myself and my little brother were happy for the whole trip. Constant rest stops at small beaches and parks on the way lol. The boat trip was fine though since thats interesting even for little kids.

manitoulin island?
No its at the mouth of a river called "the Key river" which leads into Georgian Bay. There is no way of getting there by land unless you want to hike through a few swamps, dangerous rocks, a native reserve, or head up to Sudbury and travel for around 60km along an old abandoned rail line that hasn't been used since around the late 40's.

Heres a craptacular website that the marina where we store our boat has.

Everything except the outdoor fridge and the speed boat. Our boat was was my grandfathers and he bought it in the 60's.

Yes it is pretty remote though, bears raid our compost almost every night, there are no phonelines, and getting groceries usually means spending the entire day away in town. :D

I like roughing it ...but that's just crazy! NO PHONES!?!!! what's my wife going to do with all that time on her hands ;)
