Hello!
I am currently the sole member of a MOD titled Truth Seeker. I have almost finished the first level and have begun scripting. The game is in its infancy.
But first I will inform you a little bit about what TS is about.
First of all, the MOD is being developed in order to use as a portfolio item to break into the industry. As such, the project must be professional, polished and complete. There is nothing ground breaking about the project, except it is concentrated on a central story which is narrated by cinematic progression; an interactive movie. If you would like more information on the story, feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to send you a copy.
The game will be heavily scripted, with sequences of fire fights between cinematic. As I stated before, the main goal is to demonstrate the skills of the developers enough to impress potential employers.
I myself am level designer, game designer, and do scripting and textures. It has come to the point where I am in need of members to facilitate the theme and to stay constant.
Modeler
The models needed in the game are not of high complexity. What is needed are custom models that are not practical for HAMMER to create. Things such as desktop computers, lighting fixtures, furniture and various other generic items to keep the theme constant. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to be using the HL2 models
Coding
A coder is needed for in game menu's, light scripting, HUD and main menu's . This position is quite versatile and there will be many duties you will be in charge of. However, an experienced coder is not needed, and I am very much open to learning as you go along.
Ideally I would like to keep the team small, around 3 people for now until the need is there for more members. I would also like to stress that this isn't a hardcore project aimed at commercial success. This enables us to have our own time frames and freedom. This also means we have the freedom to experiment with various game design ideas without fear. I hope to see the creativity of all members contributing to the MOD. And lastly, this should be a fun learning experience for those interested in gaining a foothold in the gaming industry.
If you require more information, please don't hesitate to e-mail me at [email protected]. Although I will not be posting intellectual property on public forums, I would be more than happy to send you what I have through email, MSN or IRC.
