hi everyone, im new to these forums and was wondering if there are any coding tutorials for the half life 2 source engine anywhere. thanks :)

Nope, fraid not.

In fact, as far as I know, there are no coding tutorials for any game, anywhere on the internet. It's mostly just porn, more porn, and clan forums.

Oh and Reuters! Mmmmm Reuters...

Okay, so I was being sarcastic, but on a scale of possible evil replies to a post like that, it's quite friendly.

I recommend always starting with our old friend, Google. A google search for "Half Life 2 Coding Tutorials" in fact - Here it is to save you time. Also, try Swallowbrush's coding forum

Wavelength is a good one too. I'm also in the process of writing a large Coding walkthrough.

Ahh, you will, because people are lazy.

One thing with the tutorials I'm going to make sure of is that they're actually teaching concepts, rather than being walkthroughs for specific features. For example, there won't be "How to add a Class System" that every script-kiddy will simply copy and paste into their mod when they want a class system, but "How variables work, and how they work with entities in Source". Concepts, rather than actual examples.

Third result of the Google search! See, it really works!

Must say I'm looking forward to a read of these "Concept Tutorials". The best part of the current crop of tutorials are the bits where they explain what each step, or section of code does, and it sounds like these tutorials are going to do exactly that - The whole way through. :)
