Updating half-life 2....

i got half-life 2 and after preloading the files , double-clicked half-life 2 on my games list and its goes updating , but why did it take such a long time?

is there anyway to play without the update or sumthing?? i can't wait that long..

updating only took 5-15 mins for me, for most updates.

sixthree, he's talking about updating, now downloading the full game, but if you were downloading, it's huge, like sixthree said.

Do you have SP2? If yes, you have a Firewall.

Then go get it.

Also, did you just get the game? If so, you missed a lot of updates, and steam is getting them all now.

That does still seem like a long time though.

EDIT: what type of connection are you on? 56k perhaps (damn you dialup)

My updates take 5 minutes. I dunno why it takes so long too you. (the servers aren't sooo busy, are they? )

Are you downloading the game or is it updating it? Did you purchase through Steam?

Guys guys! He said he has a fast connection. I have the same exact problem as him. Only that it takes 4-5 hours to get done! Not at still 5%. I have cable internet too. It seems like HL2 is such a big game that your gonna have to tough it out. Sorry.

well... i preloaded it and yeah , i got it though steam...
i managed to get only 7 percent... i waited from 11 am to 10:56 pm and its still 19 percent -.-
