Upgrading comp next year

....and I'm wondering what I should wait for. Definitely going to wait for the Geforce 8 series, and I'll be getting Xfi for sound. What new tech from AMD should I be expecting? That's my main concern right there.
And should I wait for Vista before upgrading?

EDIT: I know I'm jumping the gun a bit, but I'd like to have all my bases covered.

Wait til you see the specs for CryTek's next gen engine, then arrange your new comp around them. Otherwise, you risk not being able to handle the amazing awesomeness that is the next-gen CryEngine!

Other details:
It was a CryENGINE 2 alpha build demonstration
- It's the new project Crytek is working on that will be released by EA
- It was not a movie but a real-time demonstration
- The game ships at the same time with Windows Vista
- It's said to be the first DX10 game

So yes, wait for Vista
