urgent help needed

hi guys

just bought the orange box for my laptop over the wknd and have been playing hl2 which is amazing.

however, i have reached point where the game keeps crashing on me and will not let me pass no matter what i do. its a part where u are chased by a helicopter who shoots at you, just after riding the boat over the toxic water.

ive installed the latest drivers and disabled background programs but its no good. can anyone help me?

im not to sure but a box pops up then dissapears making it hard to read.

its fine normallu like i said ive been playin it for at least 3-4hrs so far

any ideas?

can you take a screenshot of your task manager?

I'd be tempted to try reducing my video options a chunk just in case that was the problem.

good news ive managed to bypass the prob by replaying an old save game, it worked for some reason?
