Using a headset in Battlefield 2

Im thinking of getting this head set:

Will it work with BF2 so I can talk in the mic but the sound comes out my 5.1 speakers?

sure - as long as you only connect the mic
Although if you aren't going to use the headphones why not just get a stand alone mic that you mount or wear

Im gonna use the headphones at night, the rumble of the tanks wakrs everyon up! lol

I use a headset, but I don't like those. They seem really cheap. But they do work if you want.
