I'm trying to figure out how to use bink, but I have a question. Do I have to use another program to record my gameplay. Or does bink do that. If bink does do the actual recording, how do I go about using it for recording some hl2 gameplay?

Thanks for yoru time.

the game itself has the abbiliyt to output a frame by frame (even ones your game dosn't show you), sequence all in tga files. I don't know the exact process, but i'm sure a search would reveil it to you. (search for "virtualdub" or "virtual dub")

The idea is you record a demo, then play the demo and output the frame by frame data. then use bink to make an avi of the images.

with bnk, all you need to do is tell it what the first one is and that it is a sequenced file.

the game even outputs a .wave file tha can be edited in.

just besure that you aren't running the game at an insanely high res when you output the files, just turn on antialise to get a better looking picture. (since it outputs all frames, it doesn't matter how fast your ocmptuer can run the game, so you can turn everything up and not worry about lag in the end product)
