Valve DVDs

I'm quite skeptical about the actual worth of these things. While it interests me if the product is actually good and can teach me some things about modding for Source and the SDK and such, I'd like to know whether it's any good before spending $50.

Has anybody here seen one of them, or owned one of them? Are they any good?

They're Noesis Interactive's training videos. I hear good stories about 'em, but 50 bucks for a DVD? Why don't you try to learn it yourself?

That's why I'm skeptical. I'm wondering if it's actually got useful educational stuff in, or if it's just stuff I could learn myself quite easily with a bit of searching around.

And yes, it may belong in the modding section. I thought it might be better here because you don't have to be a modder to have brought the DVDs and watched them, out of interest for the Half Life series.

Well, that depends on your knowledge. If you're familiar with 3D basics, you can easily learn stuff.
