Wow.... it seems that we get it the same time as everyone else. WTF is this BS. The final stretch and VALVe are still stubborn as mules.

Where are you getting that information from? You can't just imagine things and then pretend VAlve said it.

as you speak, crap continues to come out of your mouth. You are talking rumour, not stating fact.

I don't remember Valve saying anything about people buying off steam would get Half Life 2 early. If they did even say that, they probably meant a couple hours, since you don't have to go to the store or anything and you'll be able to play right when it is unlocked.

Exactly.

I think now is a good time to say that I'd like to strangle your smug little cartoon avatar.

:o (I agree)

I don't ever remember them saying that. They have said all along we would get it at the same time as everyone else.

I'm getting it first or thereabouts because I'm staying up all night.

Maybe that is what they meant.

-To Goldenboi,

*sniff... sniff*
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Lighten up dude, the game is out in 3 days. What is there to complain about?

You know what, you will get it earlier with steam.. it'll unlock and be playable sooner than with retail because you need to type a cd key in for that! :D

If you'd like to get technical you do actually get it early (or at least first) seeing as you'll have it at 12:00am PST, and others, although they might be able to buy it at 12:00am PST (if they can find a place open at that hour) will still have to drive home and install it; you on the other hand, get it when the clock strikes midnight. No install, no wait, just a quick activation.

Now I'm sure that's not what you meant, but I thought I'd point it out anyway. It was confirmed months ago (early July) that Steam users would not be getting the game earlier than the retail customers due to the terms of the contract between Valve and Vivendi, their publisher. It’s common sense really. Of course Valve would love nothing more than to have an early release via Steam, but they can’t. It’s not Valve being stubborn, it’s an attempt to stick to the terms of the contract, and keep themselves out of legal trouble.
