video problems

hi, i was sitting here the other day playing half life 2, which was running kind of ok, with just a bit of stuttering, apart from that it play well, but i decided to change the display mode resolution, so i put it higher and cant remember what i set it to. anyway now all i get is a blank screen when i load half life2, the sound works fine, but the monitor stays off. any ideas would be well appreciated?? im running a amd semperon 2.4g with 256ddr ram, and geforce4,i have tried re-installing steam and half life 2 but still no change. cheers..
