Just out of the blue BF2 decides that my I can't hear or transmit over VoIP, I've tried re-installing the game and swapped drivers for sound card and mic, no luck so far. Any idea's? :(

I assume you've checked out the Voip setup in the BF2 folder?

Does your microphone have a switch to mute the voice transmit? Mine was on mute for the longest time and i just figured that it was broken.

Yeah I did, and the strangest thing happens since first off it doesn't detect any sound and it crashes when I select Save Setting every single time. :(

My mic isn't on mute since I tested it on windows Sound Recorder and it works fine, as well as on TS and XFire. Also when it doesn't work I can't receive other people's voice either ;(

try any other mics to see if the mic is the problem?

edit: i missed your second paragraph...hmm thats really odd then

I think I just solved it, get ready for this as a solution...

My mic works, when TeamSpeak is running.

I shit you not, I just went and tested it and my in-game mic test works perfect when I have TeamSpeak running in the background.

Nuts I tell ya, nuts!

TS is adapting itself to your system! Only way it will run!

SKYNET IS ACTIVE!

my mic only works in bf2 when i have sound accelleration at basic, otherwise i cant transmit.

I tried that as well, lowered it down to Standard and it still wouldn't work. Then I remembered that it wasn't just my mic, I couldn't hear other people either so I figured that wasn't the problem.

Yeah, TS can often screw up your VOIP D:

Have to connect to a server, then onto TS otherwise i will often get one or other turn into static D:

That's the strange thing though, I haven't used TS in months and suddenly it's like BF2 became addicted to it. Without TS running, I can't hear or transmit over VoIP :O

Its because of TS, you mike automatically mutes from the volume control, or unmutes, either way, TS changes it to something BF2 doesn't like when you shut of TS.
