One thing we've decided to do, as a small celebratory birthday thing is, initially for a month, make a book of mine available online, free, gratis and for nothing.

Which book, though...? Ah, that's up to you.

What I want you to do is think -- not about which of the books below is your favourite, but if you were giving one away to a friend who had never read anything of mine, what would it be? Where would you want them to start?

have neer read any of his books, might try reading whichever one wins

I expect American Gods will win, although Neverwhere surprised me with how many votes it's gotten. I voted Coraline.

I'd say American Gods, but i've only read 4 of those in the list. Anansi boys was the first and a very good starter to his work in my opinion.

You know what's even better than having a free book online?

A public library card!

duhr, have fun walking

/looks at legs "you continue holding up this torso like you're supposed to, dont get any fancy ideas about waking nowheres or I'll poke with a hatpin again"

Voted American Gods. Honestly, I believe it's the best introduction to Gaiman's work - besides Sandman, of course. :D

Yeah, he ought to make the entire collection of Sandman free.
