alright, we're working on this thesis project at Cal State East Bay in Hayward California and we're stuck . . . We want to put a five minute video that we recorded on our camera onto HL2 so we can watch it on a wall in our level. We tried creating an animated texture, but that can't play sound and it only supports 720 frames which is only 24 seconds of footage at 30fps. Can someone help us with this problem?

I don't know if this would work but, how about splitting both the video track and the audio track into two files, and then have the video running as a animated texture with the audio track running as a soundscape both simultaneously.

..and about that video frames not being long enough? How about splitting the clip in half and making two seperate animated texture where one animated texture will start and then the second texture will begin straight afterwards.

I don't know, just some ideas.

yeah i was going to suggest splitting the sound. and you can probally edit some code to allow more frames.

good suggestion

That sounds like a solution, but how do I string more than one texture on the same surface to play like that?

i dont think you can lol. ill look for the code that defines how many frames your aloud on an animated texture. i doubt ill find it tho.

alright, the person who did it for HL1 is called Randomnine, but his open source program doesn't work for HL2, so now we're looking for someone who knows C++ who can write a new program. I'll post more when something comes up.
