Someone post the best mods to have for this game.

All I have is the horse armour mod.

I don't care for links nor was I asking for them. I want you people to post what you use that you feel are good, etc, etc..

I'm usin'...

Auryn's Levelling Mod - Does away with the stat multiplier system and just increses stats based on which skills you're using when you're using them. Ensures you can max out your stats without spamming the +5s till your head is numb.

BTMod - Already been linked. A neccesity.

Combat Behaviour Mod - Makes enemies more aggresive, they strafe around you n' stuff.

Quest Award Levelling - Quest rewards level with you as you advance, so you don't have to worry about doing a quest too early and getting a crappy reward which could've been useful later on.

Wilderness Creatures - More interesting encounters in the wilderness. More numerous/varied creatures, ie - wolves will attack in packs, sometimes accompanied by a troll. Nifty if you get tired of questing all the time and just like to roam like me.

Thank you. This is what I am talking about.

using (or stopped using in some cases):

Seth's NPC equipment rarity - scales down the item levelling so you get attacked by less bandits in Daedric armour and whatnot. It still occurs but there wont be anything ludicrous like a whole group of bandits all outfitted in daedric/glass, whatever. Some form of anti-scaling mod is necessary to lower scaling-related stupidity imo, and this is not the only one that exists. Anti-enemy/NPC-scalers also exist but I don't trust them.

No psychic guards - shortens the distance that guards will hear about stuff if you break the law, but not to an unreasonable distance. So if you nick something and get noticed, but there's no guards around then you wont magically get a bounty (I think). There's a 'hard' mode in which an NPC's disposition will drop by 100 if they notice you stealing, so they might actually attack you. I'm not sure I like this mod - the disposition-drop was I think responsible for the biggest screw up in my game so far, making the guards in Kvatch turn on me for no reason. Plus if you steal well enough, there's no need for it anyway. Probably gonna deactivate it.

Movable bodies - makes bodies lighter so that lesser strength characters can still move them. Good stuff, many people with decent strength wont even notice the difference though (I did).

Vampire sight toggle - turns the vampire sight ability into a toggle instead of a time-limited skill. Kind of essential. It's ridiculous to be a vampire but only have timed vampire sight, and yet still be able to cast it endlessly. There is a similar mod which turns Khajiit night-sight into a toggle. Stupid having it any other way imo.

BT mod - makes the interface nicer, expands the map, decreases the size of fonts in the inv so more stuff can be listed. It also changes spell timer icons so you get a numeric value shown for them too - horses for courses, but I would have preferred those to have remained normal.

Attack and hide - I have this but deactivated it. It changes the way the AI works when you sneak attack with the bow so that enemies don't automatically know where you are, but instead try to search for you. I suspected it of causing enemies in my game to behave strangely. Also, when I turned it off, I noticed that enemies don't automatically know where you are anyway. With a high enough sneak they may not attack, or they may rush to where you fired from, yet still not see you if you have moved.
Whatever, many people praise this mod, and if you figure you need it, it comes with 3 levels of difficulty to suit your taste.

Oh, I forgot maybe the most essential one:
'Landscape LOD replacement textures' and 'Landscape LOD replacement textures (Border regions)' - changes the long distance textures in the game to hi-res, improving their looks by a factor of 10. It makes loading times slower but apparently cuts into framerate only very marginally. Almost everyone who has used it has commented to the effect that Bethesda were silly not to make the game look like this in the first place.

Some cool ass mods I found. Didn't want to make a completely new thread.

Adds Beast Heads as wearable helmets. Neat if you're a sneaky type, and helmets really look weird while you're... Sneaking.

Adds some unenchanted Dark Brotherhood armor to the game. I might toss out my glass set in favor of this. But then again, there's a problem of only having one enchantment per piece of armor (and the DB armor is considered one piece).

A Katana remodel that makes them look like this: http://www.tessource.net/files/image.php?id=1572

Adds some sneaky looking knives :D

I thought this one was really cool (haven't installed this one, but I like the idea):

Makes it so that your DB armor carries a bounty with it. If you wear it out in the open, you'll be immediately recognized as an assasin, your bounty will skyrocket, and your fame will go to zero. As soon as you take the armor off, your bounty dissapears, and your fame returns.

With this, you can also have a DB alter ego of a sort. Any bounties earned while commiting crimes with the DB robe on, stay with the DB robe. This means that if you're caught stealing an apple, and your bounty jumps by 3000 septims, as soon as you take off the armor/robe, your bounty returns to what it was before you stole the apple. As soon as you put the armor back on, it will still have the apple bounty on it.

I probably won't use this one, but it sounds cool :D

EDIT: OOH. I might use this and then stop using glass armor alltogether.

Makes it so that the DB armor is a set, rather than two pieces. The set is unenchanted, so now you can have four different enchantments to your DB armor, rather than only one (if you purchased an unenchanted armor in the mod I mentioned earlier).

The only mods I'm using are... Two pet mods and the Khajit Night-eye toggle mod.
