What is a Guide? Well that's a complicated Jimmy...

Things like this just create the appearance that you haven't even read over your own work.

And try to guess what are the problems with this sentence:

This entire process takes place in such a small amount of time that it cannot be measured and to the external observer a ship contacting their Guide looks like the ship just winked out of existence.

Pesmerga calls it nitpicking, but nobody will take you seriously if you can't write properly. It also makes the reader stop to try to decipher the meaning of your words.
