I had the honour of playing the original HL tonight, and apart from getting stuck in the intro train sequence (had to use restart to get out of it, cheats didnt work) it was just as I remembered it.
What I was surprised at, is that the old CD tracks that played for me back in 1998 when I had the CD inserted played tonight, years after, when the CD is nowhere NEAR the drive.
Now how is this possible? Did Valve decide that CD tracks for one game only (well, HL2 isn't going to have them now, is it?) wasn't worth it, and converted them all to MP3s for Steam's benefit?
Yeah, that must be it.
