Well im new here this is my first post, but when i think about this i wonder, where did they get the suit from in half life 2? is that another suit? All other characters are always complaining about the suit "you are the one in the hev suit blah blah", i mean, gordon's body dissapeared and the hev suit was lying there or what? if they could get another hev suit then why the hell do they complain about? P.S. my english sucks terrible, i dont live in USA :P

Oh i forgot something

Whata bout the helmet? why isnt he wearing the helmet?... maybe he forgot the helmet of the suit and the accident put him in a coma or osmething, wich would be sad for the story if thats the explanation of all this... the vortiguants said "we see you still in black measa...." maybe they mean it, maybe gordon freeman is still in black mesa :(, lying on the ground in a coma =(

Do we know he's not wearing the helmet? You do raise a question I hadn't thought of - at the end of Half Life 1, the G Man mentions something about letting you keep the suit. When you get off the train in Half Life 2, you are apparently not wearing it. This is a good idea, because you'd be recognized instantly if you walked into the station in the suit. So... did the G Man remove the suit and give it to the boys at Black Mesa? Thinking about it makes me think that it's a different suit, and your original one was tossed by the G Man. There was more than one suit at the facility - they (Kleiner and Vance) probably grabbed it on their way out.

'Ello lil person! I am going to explain to you the second chapter of HL2. Well, when he gets to Dr. Kleiner's lab, he had created an extra HEV suit. The Mk. ..4-5, Or something. For Unkown reasons. We dont know what possesed him to keep a suit.. handy.. heh... but the whole helmet debate.. well, ive drived that its a fold-out, when combat conditions/hostile envirements(eh?) are met, the helmet unfolds.. Its a better suit than in HL1. Even though... its like exactly the same... eh... okay. Any more questions?

no, no more questions thank you, its just when i was playing opposing forces i remember freeman running without the helmet... and, every other guy wearing an hev suit the helmet was on... other thing is, i found this text

Is that portal? And is [s(i)mbolo de HL] Actually in it?

lambda is the half life symbol, the real name i mean... in physics, (where the name comes from, find half-life in dictionary.com) the phrase "simbolo de HL" is spanish, means half life symbol, refering to lambda, sorry i pur it there to show the same text to a friend :$

no its not portal, i saw it on a video called pysque, shown in the E3 2003, before half life2 was released....

OMG Gordon is nude at the start of Half life 2 D: no wonder he don't talk, he is to shy because everyone saw his penis.

Don't be stupid. He's wearing a stupid civilian clothing thing like everybody else.

If you go far enough underneath it, he doesn't exist.

It's the same HEV suit Gordon used in Black Mesa, Kleiner has upgraded it though.

Psyche video with Gman in it and lots of crazy things going on, i remember it well. There are lots of newer members here who don't remember the bink videos pre-HL2 release so are missing your point i'm afraid. When Gordon was put into stasis by Gman, he did so to control him and use him for the next problem along the line. The combine invasion being ideal. We can assume Gman brings you back into a situation where you have the opportunity to change the world. With the HEV suit i'd expect Gordon to not get very far on that civilian train, so i always believed Gman relieved Gordon of the suit for civilian clothing to give him a chance.

With regard to the suit and the helmet etc, i've read before that the Mach 5 suit doesn't have a helmet, but it does have a protective hood instead. We can't get too deep into the subject, because we could say 'Hey why doesn't Gordon's glasses steam up them!?' etc. So just live with it :)

I've got the old Bink videos somewhere in here...

Oh man, I remember that psyche e3 video. Tons of debate back then about what it said, the images in there.. etc. I believe there was a stalker hidden in the video that I found, but this was at the time the beta was out so I remember not saying anything about it. (only reason i knew what it was, was because certain people had the stolen build of hl2, for the new people)

Pfft, remember when the forum had about 5,000 people on it at once?

Darn young whipper-snappers!

How do you know that Gordon doesn't wear his helmet. When Gordon was invited at Valve office for the official Half-Life release, he didn't put his helmet because all the press photographers wanted to see his face. So all the documents where we see Gordon are without his helmet. If you are going to be a star you would certainly be sure that everyone will recognize you in the street. Only a moron like the MasterChief would keep his helmet on !!
And another explanation why we can't see the helmet is that if i can't see Gordon's feets why would i see his helmet. Imagine to play looking through the helmet with the vapor on the glass, the mud, scratches, blood, alien snot and whatever worse you can imagine!!!

the most stupid reply i have ever read... he doesnt wear a helet, thats it, the end, you never played oposing force as i see, gg

I definitely agree with you, Gordon never did wear a helet once in his life. I never did either i must confess!

Aw, crap.

I believed a consensus was reached, the helmet folds out during combat and folds in during exploration. It's simple logic.

Also, if Gordon doesn't wear a helmet, how possibly could he survive within the Citadel dark fusion reactor?

Magic. Thats always the answer to hard questions. :bounce:

But more seriously, I agree, he has to be wearing a helmet. Holding your breath underwater cant drain suit energy. The only good explanation is his suit recycles his air.

or the other explanation is he forgot to use the helmet in the experiment in hl1, and he is having a dream all this time, and thats the point they show him without a helmet all the time... ¬¬

I feel bad for anyone who missed those days of hype and the amazing E3 2003 videos we all marveled at. I still remember the day I first watched the 18 minute video (give or take) collaboration E3 presentation. It was quicktime, and it was 500 mb so I let it go over night and watched it as soon as I woke up. I just checked, I still have the original file on my system. May 19th 2003, and the file was 616 MB. "Will this run on my 486?"

Then I had to wait over a year to play the game :O

I still have the Stalker trailer from that year too, what a tragedy that game came to be. The stalker sky textures still impress me, even today, three years later.

oh! More memories!
