What is DesktopX?

hi i was looking for cool backrounds for my desktop and iv seen numerous things for desktopx. i was wondering what this is and any good info someone could give me about it(is it good? bad? free? user friendly? highly customizeable? and more good info u think would be helpful or that i need/should know). thanks.

basically for those people who've too much time on their hands fiddling with the desktop instead of doing work or playing games naa just kidding, things like this can be fun, mate of mine has something similar and setup his windows to look like a Mac. I used to have mine looking like an SGI.. Some can get very silly though with weird things all over the place and if you do serious work you'll probably find cosmetic enhancements like this are more of a hindrance than a help. But I guess at Lan parties where showing off seems to be important having a fancy desktop instead of the default looking one is a good way to go.
