What sort of mod do you really want to see?

Personally, I'd really love a superbly done take on a Combine soldier's perspective prior to the events of Half-Life 2... some kind of moving story about the moral implications of being an enforcer in a dystopic Orwellian society.

What about you?

Playing a brainwashed drone...eh no thanks.

CP might be sort of interesting I guess. Make it sort of a short mystery mod where there was a crime committed and you need to find clues and kill (or arrest with stunstick) the right civi or you lose.

Seriously, anything showing any of the events post Black Mesa (which was fairly well covered, I think, by Blue Shift and Opposing Force) from different points of view would be welcome. The portal storms from the point of view of a bumpkin in the sticks who's finally pressured into moving into the city, the Seven-Hour war from the point of view of a terran soldier facing an overwhelming enemy, heck, even Barney's trot while Gordon and Alyx are in the 'slow teleport' for a week or so would be entertaining.

Would be nice to have a proper singleplayer Strider mod.

I want to see another Barney Story, either play as Barney while Gordon and Alyx are in the teleport, or play as him undercover right up to the part where Gordon arrives at C17.

But that sounds more like an expansion pack.

A rebellion against the Combine set in London. I've had this idea for ages actually...

You awaken to complete darkness and the sound of a train. Suddenly the brakes squeal and the train grinds to a halt. A door is heard opening and muffled voices getting closer:

"Only one shell in this carriage, I swear they know when we're coming. OK, let's wake him up."

A clank of metal on metal followed by a loud spark as a piercing light suddenly envelops you. As your eyes adjust, you see yourself on a Combine train, 2 male civillians standing over you, one with a crowbar, the other with a hypodermic needle.

"Looks like he's already awake, the poor bastard. <then, directed at you, in a voice that makes you feel 5 years old again> Good morning sleepy-head, time for school. Your legs may be a little weak so be careful when stepping off the train. Head for the front carriage and our colleague will show you where to go"

They jump off the train and head for the next carriage. As you get off the train yourself, you see that you are in a tunnel. The 5 carriage razer train is clearly without a driver as he is unconscious on the floor by the front carriage. Standing over him is another civilian brandishing a confiscated stun-baton. As you approach him, he politely ushers you up a small flight of stairs next to him and through a door. Suddenly a shout from the civilian standing guard at the back end of the train:

"****! Another train is coming! Everyone out!"

If you look back along the rails a light can be seen approaching but you are pushed backwards by the polite stun-baton civilian dashes in the doorway and just in time as a deafening explosion smashes the door off its hinges as the two trains collide, only one of your rescuers having made it...

Explosive opening eh?

Anyway this is London under Combine rule including a propaganda filled Regent Street and a half dismantled Houses of Parliament where you play as Barney before he discovers City 17 is the centre of resistance.
