I'm sure this is a stupid, silly, and old question, but I searched and found nothing.

Absolutely. I don't remember the source, though.

Its been confirmed many times that all 3 new games will have commentary. Thats Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2.

So, all versions will have commentary? good to know, thanks.

I love commentary... It's like being able to play the game. But twice. With informations.

Valve has stated (somewhere) that all their future releases will have commentary available.

So good news!

All Valve games from here on out will have commentary. I also think the EP2 commentary branches out abit, including having some of the actors provide comments.

Not so sure how well that'd work - I always figure Mike Shapiro's normal voice is really rather cheery, not unlike Barney's. Hearing him say "Wow! I just love the lines I get to do for the G-Man! Oh they're just so cool! Wow!"
D:

It'd be funnier if it was with character commentary.

I heard they are doing a Half Life 2 commentry... did I hear right or wrong?

Commentary mode is great because i like to know a lot of random stuff about things i do...always makes it more fun to play.

I hope you heard right..

Wrong in that there's been no actual word. Apparently it's something they'd like to do, so I wouldn't rule it out.

I wonder what Valve will unfold with this new "commentary." :bounce:

I really hope they changed the noticeably "read-from-paper" tone to a more free form conversational tone while doing the commentary.. I think Robin Walker was the best in doing commentary in EP1, while Gabe was ghastly.

I agree. I like the commentary mode in Chronicles of Riddick much better than the ones in episode 1, TBH.

Gabe was the introduction, he had to have the read-from-paper tone. Walker was really good, though.

I would suck at commentary.

"Here uh we uh did some stuff. No wait I messed up. Can we do that again? #@$(&$ Ok and uh we thought it was cool so we uh put it in the game.'

Character commentary? You mean... that actual characters reading the commentary out? G-man reading commentary would be ultimate lolage.

Agreed. I think Ep1's commentary was still a bit better than that on Lost Coast, the first one they did, so hopefully they'll keep it up.

Man, that would be an awesome addition. I've seen it done in movies and it turns out to be really funny, especially with multiple characters talking at once.

I think that clip by Dandrige is an example of such. Basically, her thoughts on her character and how Valve treats the whole aspect as well.

Personally, I think Dhabih Eng had the worst 'read from a script' tone. I agree that I hope they've tried not to do that this time around.

So, the console versions will also have commentary? Thats great.
