Windows Restarts On Startup

I had installed and played Half-Life 2 on my old computer and recently got a new one. After installing the game on my new computer and using Steam to update both Half-Life 2 and Counter Strike: Source, when I try to play the game it restarts my computer. I can't figure out why and any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yeah, you need the nVidia drivers or else it will never work.

I had exactly the same problem - though with a gefore 6200 card, and exactly the same solution has worked

i've spent all blasted day trying to fix that

now i'm off to play half-life substance
