Worth getting?

I was thinking about getting Half LIfe 2 Deathmatch. I aldready asked my friend about it, and he responded with quite a firm NO. So, I thought maybe I should go for the Source Multiplayer Pack, which contains it. I do want it and all, but the real question here isn't "should I get it" it's "how should I get it". Then again, this also leads to the other two games' wothiness. Should I just stick with TF2? I don't know.

Thoughts?
(By the way, I have the Orange Box and Gmod. One of the main reasons I want this is because I want the Stunstick to work on Gmod)

you can get it free off of Steam, I have never heard of anyone saying no to free items

Awesome, I do have an ATi Graphics card on my computer. I'll do that when I get off this laptop.

I prefer it over counter strike because you can use the gravity gun, and it isn't too team oriented, like counter-strike, the likes of which I absolutely hate.

It's one of the most dynamic multiplayer FPS games around, but you need to spend some time getting good at it, and find good people to frag with to truly appreciate it. Most people who hate it have not given it enough of a chance, or have only played on horrible laggy servers that are not being maintained or admined correctly.

As a former CS player and someone who has played quite a bit of TF2, I still think HL2DM is best hands down. Not only that, if you truly decide to master it, you will develop all sorts of skills and knowledge you can take into other games.
