You can still play.

It requires a DirectX 9 graphics card but I'm playing on a GeForce 4 ti4200. I don't have enough RAM. My processor is too slow. I've been playing it.

i'm sure it's the reason, and i know it's for high end but i was under the impression that you could still play it with lower settings if you didn't have the best compnents

1.0gb RAM
DX9 video card

1.0gb Corsair PC3200
GeForce 6800GT w/256mb DDR (81.85 drivers)

Looks like I meet the minimum, but Valve says no. I'm downloading to play it anyway. Gay ass Valve.

I dont see why it wont play!
my system is slower than that, and it plays Loast Cost..
But i did have the settings all at low with no HDR,
at 1024,768.
was ok at 40FPS, playable.
oh what you know, plenty of bugs jumping and things.
probibly get sorted over time tho. so cant complain.
oh its free as well.

Dude anyone can play it, the thing with the requirement pop-up basically states that you aren't meeting the criteria for all high options, mainly.

hehe, 1280x1024, all settings on high, 16x and 8x things on, got straight 10-25 FPS, perfectly playable in single-player, and I loved the comments on the second run through.

Exactly. My 2500+ plays it great. Some people just dont understand that is what valve RECOMMENDS not what you need exactly just to play.

ok, that message came up and then when i clicked to play anyway an error message came up that said the game wasn't available. upon restarting steam i've been able to play the game. someone please lock this thread so less people will think of me as an idiot

Lol, it played fine, FPS was around 15 with it on Medium, but no problems with it that low.
