Okay im not sure if it has been mentioned before but...If you shoot like 3 feet infront of you at the ground, the bolt will bounce off the ground and keep going forward, its possible at about 3-10 feet and on some corners/walls. Makes for some stylish kills

Yeah, if you shoot a wall at around a 45 degree angle it will bounce. The fun thing is shooting one up a hill and having it hit someone square in the head and tacking them to the wall.

What's even better is to turn gravity on really high. Default is 600, I set it somewhere around 999999999999 yesterday, and when I shot it, it would immediately bounce along the ground, allowing for roughly 10-20 hops, plenty o' sparks, and a cool little "skipping stones" mini-game.

Anyone who is bored with CS:S or HL2DM, set binds for spawning NPCs, and play around on the coast level where you go on the train tracks and the train comes with the loud loud horn. I set the gravity to 50, and any time you came into contact with any form of physics-related object, the item you touched, shot, etc. would float, making for some VERY VERY FUN crossbow crucifixions. Man, I seriously had a blast. NPCs kept me occupied for well over an hour.

No offense but you have horrible fps...Ill try the skipping stone thing though.

once i did that, it bounced so much, it slowed to about 1 mph, and i was able to see it bounce in my face, it kinda never stoped :)

Well, you couldn't see there, but I had previously spawned a shitload of NPCs and had fun with them, so they really are taxing on your CPU. And that likes to bring your FPS down...a lot. :D Plus that was outdoors, plus, I have lots of settings on high.

I've noticed that I had a bolt bounce twice at one point. Shot it at a diagonal angle, so it bounced off the ground, then off a wall and into the wall opposite. Was quite cool.

The bolts can't actually bounce from a -really- long distance away, I'm not even sure if there is any limit on the distance it can go before it won't bounce.

It isn't the distance, it is the angle, because the crossbow has a velocity...it starts going down after a while and the angle becomes too high to bounce so it sticks.

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!! I get 20-some frames per second. SHUT UP!

i dm lockdown i once saw a crossbow bolt ricochet like 10 times down a hallway, it was sweet

Nailing other players with a ricochet IMO feels more satifying than even nailing them over the head with a toilet

Don't take offense man...I get bad fps too. Im just saying it sux. Though I usually only get bad FPS when there are a lot of bodies.
