I found the tentacles introduction and the resonance cascade to be pretty damn exciting.

Visually? I'd say they're exciting because from a dramatic angle, not a visual one.

I'm with Kupo. Visually they really aren't anything to write home about.

Yup, and even more so, they were visually awesome, the electricity, the light flashes the explosions of the rsonance cascade. The Tentacl ripping the scientist of of the window and the glass shattering (second favourite part in whole gam; first is hitting the rocket switch and burning the bastard to hell). Awesome Visuals, even today in my opinion =/

Course, I still play Doom, so anything 1998 and beyond is visually impressing
