The Verc Collective have published a rather interesting interview with Yahn Bernier, compliments of HalfLife2.Net community member Pendragon who initially e-mailed off the set of questions. The interview specifically targets the machanica aspects of the Source engine and what we'll be able to do with development projects. Here's a piece of what took place...
The interview goes on to talk about a range of subjects including more engine output features, facial expressions, actor-recorded lipsynching, scripts and even cinematic options, you can read the entire interview by either checking out VERC or our "Info from Valve" forum thread.Pendragon: What formats will Source/Hammer support as outputs for videos we create?
Yahn Bernier: The output is just intermediate still frames, so you can spit them out at any resolution/framerate you want (depending on how patient you are I suppose).
