GIF Movie Gear. Basically I use VirtualDub to edit and save (uncompressed) a scene from an avi of my choosing (gotta save it as an avi though). Then I open avi with gif movie gear. I reduce the colors, thin the frame count, crop a bit, and then save it. Final step is to upload to http://www.imageshack.us/
