It's something most new people usually go through on these forums, some kind of overly-harsh hazing. (Either that or they're furophobes lol)

Deleting your account is a bit hasty though, the true forum regulars don't hate you, I'm sure; there's a lot of people here who like to pick on the newer members because they feel being here for 6 months removes that label from them. They feel this way because they went through basically what you're going through now.

There has been a lot of threads about religion and one's opinion on it, so I can understand why there was initial distaste from people - Though they tend to forget just how horrible they were when they first joined.

Go through my own posts from 2004 if you don't believe me. I've posted some stuff that I'd punch myself in the face for posting by my more modern version of forum standards.

Just don't feed the trolls, basically.

Ignore those assholes. That happened to me too. Being a furry is for enjoyment and confidence. They are trying to pull you out of furries because they don't understand. They approach furries offensively for no reason. That isn't their business.

To supplement my post in your thread...

I think one of the things that might piss people off about furries is when they sort of parade it around, like your avatar. I realize this isn't fair, because everyone parades around their interests with things like avatars and signatures etc. But when someone looks at your avatar, all they can think is "wow, what a gay furry"

There's a similar albeit less prominent hate for anime around here as well, and I have to deal with it from time to time, but it's no big deal because I know it's all just down to personal tastes and some people being more vocal about their dislikes than others.

Just take it easy and don't worry about what other people think, bro.
