Fixed. HL2 + Eps are hardly mediocre. This is top notch stuff. Check out the Lost Coast commentary to get a glimpse at some of the technology living behind the game we're playing. It is AMAZING stuff, all done for what many would discount as a 'stupid video game.'

As long as the Resistance satellite is in orbit, we won't see Combine portals. They're jacked and they know it. Likely they sought the Borealis for its potential, possibly out of curiosity, and now seek it as a method of escape or a way to replenish their forces here on Earth.

Looking back on these comments about G-Man "stopping time" and what transpired at the top of the Citadel... Some fans believe he left Alyx for dead. I doubt he did. It seems more plausible she was in stasis (slow-time, or whatever) right alongside Gordon, and the Vorts rescued the two of them.

Eli's mention of only being able to take his picture and Alyx out of Black Mesa may have been a lie. When he revealed this to us, the G-Man was not as involved in his life as he became in Episode 2. Had Episode 2 not transpired, Eli may have gone on telling people - even Gordon - that he saved...

Valve has proven that episodic gaming can be 'done' but still may not be the best method of development. Most people like to buy that box and have a 'full' game. Episodic development may be best reserved for what would typically be an expansion pack.

I like it. I wouldn't go the GTA route, but an expansion pack playing as a pre-HL2 Combine (Civil Protection and on up) would be awesome.

Think of it this way: HL1 had an arc. It ended after Xen. HL2 built upon that, and extended the story arc. It will end after Episode 3. HL3... or whatever comes next... will do the same, building on what has been established already. I doubt HL3 will do what HL2 did.. i.e. present us...
