I actually snagged that Sony via a closeout pricematch at Circuit City for $1589 ;) It accepts 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i but upconverts all 720p to 1080i. Shipping a HDTV would probably nullify the cost difference :hmph:

In terms of MSRP, the AVC-2500 was $3500, HCA-2205 $2500, Stratus Goldi $2500, Stratus C6i $900, Stratus Mini $1200, Velodyne SPL-1200R $1900, and Sony 57" HDTV $2000. Of course, I only buy stuff when I can get it for 30% or more off MSRP, so I didn't pay those prices.
