1 day early...

Gameplay has a habit of releasing games a day early. I received Rome:Total War 1 day before it was supposed to be released and I know its happened to other games as well.

Do you think people have a chance of getting Half-Life 2 on the 15th November through Gameplay? Or would it not be possible due to it being a worldwide release?

Wal Mart usually releases stuff before the street date. I got Family Guy Season 2/3 a month before it was suppose to come out. But don't get your hopes up ;-P

The "HL2 gone gold" post at shacknews.com mentioned the fact that if any retailer violated the release date(by selling early), Steam would unlock HL2 as well.

Don't count on it happening in you're area, but sure some people will get it a day early. I know it happened with Doom 3. A few stores in my area even sold pre-orders a day early, but just a day early isn't anything huge. It inevitably happens, and I don't think the publisher has an army of lawyers waiting to sue anybodies ass who sells it a few hours early, maybe a week early, but not a day early.

Well really im not that bothered if I do get it a day early since Im busy for the first 4 days its out lol So I wont really get to play it til the 20th anyway.

Anyways, I don't know why all of you are getting psyched up over the slim chance that this game may be played a DAY EARLY, WOAH!! Seriously, we've waited 6 years for this.. I don't think it'd hurt waiting one more day.

That could be a good anti-piracy measure... it would be groovy if the beta was stolen, but you still needed steam to play it--even in developmant--if they catch you playing HL2 in your steam account. BOOTED!
