10min Mod - Needs People

At the moment this mod is just an experiment to see if it is possible to put together a mod that kicks ass for around 10 solid minutes while accomplishing as much as possible in terms of game play and mechanics without losing steam.

We're looking for:

Sound Designer.
Programmers/Coders.

Hey, I'm the other dude working on the project. We don't necessarily need a website designer, because we both have a fair amount of knowledge in that area. Do you have any work to show? Maybe we could make an exception.

takes 10 minutes to make? well, sounds like an interesting experement but i doubt that it will turn out well, and how much different from the original game can you get in 10 minutes? not very far

I think he means making a mod that is fun to play for around ten mins, not that takes 10 mins to play.

but now i get it, yea i guess not everybody has a lot of time to play games, so this would be cool

Yeah, 10 minutes to make it would just be... insanity. We're aiming for ten minutes of gameplay because we don't want to start something too ambitious before we know exactly what we're doing.

Pilo, your work looks interesting. I'll have to talk with janitor about it, but I'm all for recruiting a new member, even if it isn't in a completely necessary area of development. You can add me to msn at [email protected].

I gotcha, make sure to add lots of intense action and make it really fast paced, because I doubt that someone wants to spend 10 minutes hiding in one place without seeing one person

Digging this one up, but just curious if this is going on? If I get it straight the final product will be a mini mod(like a demo) of the core mechanics of the game packed full of gamey goodness?

Yeah, we're getting deeper and deeper into development. We're planning on making it have as much gamey goodness as possible.

We're still looking for people, we have 3 working in multiple roles at the moment, and it's starting to progress nicely again (I had a very unexpected hard drive crash, that set us back a bit). Why is it that 98% modders have that excuse oO, not just in HL2, I saw the same in Morrowind too :afro:

The hard drive crash? I was baffled about that one. It seems I had a virus that corrupted my boot sector, and I couldn't get the thing to boot. I finally set it up in another computer and backed up the files, but it took me a while to figure out. And then I was pissed off at computers for a few days

Don't wait, back up now. Best to be safe, apparently stuff goes wrong without any warning.

I did an xp repair from the disc. Had a minor internet problem, but seems fine now.... fingers crossed.

My work is on my second hard drive, so when I i anything goes wrong with the first, I have the second for storage.

10 Min Mod Openings

The 10 Min Mod is currently under development and moving at a fairly brisk pace, at the moment we're looking for anybody with experience in the following areas:

Modeling
Coding
Web Site(s)

Even if we don't fill these openings the mod will be out the door this December.
