Second 1 is great but the first one is just plain weird ...

On the second one you could of used displacement maps to do a better effect of rippling.

Also the bottom half of the first one is a tad bit too dark for me.
It would of looked better because people have most of their icons on the right side of the desktop if you horizontally flipped the image so the pole is on the left side but with the text and your name on the side still visible.

Good job overall

That's crap, I started both of these before your silly rust wallpaper came out. ALSO my first wallpaper also utlilized real textures, which was posted before your rust texture on the forum. Quit trying to act like you own this forum. Ill take you on in a one on one photoshop duel anytime...
