A few questions about CS:S...

I have my game pre-ordered through EB games right now but I have a CC and I could buy the game through steam just to play CS:S. The game looks very nice but for a person that did not enjoy old CS for all that long is this game that much better?

I like eye candy and awesome gun sound effects etc... I just do not know if the game will keep my attention for longer than 10 hours. If someone could maybe let me know if they did not really like 1.6 and now they luv CS:S I will be on my way to the EB games to cancel. Thanks

No, it's basicaly the same.
The physics don't really make a diference, except you get to chase tires down slopes.
I didn't like CS because of the attitude and cheating that became rampant after about... er 0.8? (can't remember). If you just didn't like the game, there's no real difference.
