A few questions about HL2 preload

Alright, so we have all this preloaded on our PC's, just wondering, when the game is "released" will it just automatically unlock the copies we have? Also, I assume we DON'T have the final version of the game and rather, when it's unlocked, any updates they have will download and install before setup or afterwards? Does this sound right?

All I know is that when its released, you can play right away, so the answer to your first question is yes. To the second question, they probably won't mess with it until after release, but I'm not sure.

So right now we have a finished, totally playable copy? Possibly the same as VU's? Or is there files missing and that's why it's uncrackable?

I think there will probably be atleast another small preload before HL2 is released, then they'll probably send you a cd-key or something like that from the email addy you're registered to steam with. But, that's just a guess.
