Well, I've been considering getting this game now that I've heard about it (like a week ago), and I have a few questions for those of you who have it, so I'll have a better understanding of what I'll be getting into if I choose to buy it.

1. What are you initial impressions of this game?

2.What, in your opinion, are the BEST features of this game?

3.What, in your opinion, are the WORST features of this game?

4.Did it live up to the hype for you?

5.What is your preformance and system specs?

I played it for about 7-8 hours on wednesday, and my initial impression is that the game seems to help a bit more, and not in a way that makes it easy, but in a way that doesn't make you read your journal every 3 seconds looking for what the hell you need to do, so the quest interface is a lot easier to understand. The Best feature is without question the melee combat, my god, your entire screen rocks and tilts as you get hit, and you actually have to point your shield into the enemies swings to make it effective, so you can't just run up, block and counter-attack, it takes a bit of skill and getting used to. The worst feature is the animations in 3rd person, the few times I have decided to go into 3rd person, the sidestep and jump animations are just "Uck" but thankfully, 1st person is the only way worth playing. Live up to the hype? Hell yes. I played it on Glirk's computer so you can ask him about performance and specs :)

1. Awesome. Everything is so polished. Don't get too caught up in the story -- that's a crime. Take a break and head out on your horse and just roam around. Oblivion (the game, not the place) is so beautiful.

2. Combat, as Dala said, by far. Your screen shakes and bobs when you get hit. The spells could be a little better but the melee is the best. For more information, check out the link in my video thread.

3. Worst? Not quite sure yet.

4. Completely.

5. 25-30 FPS outdoors, 80+ indoors. A64 3500+ (2.2GHz); 2GB PC3200; 7800GT 256MB.
