does anyone know how an HEV suit works or what it does im just curious as to how it takes so many bullets and can regenerate and stuf

links to any info would own

I believe it is reactive armor, utilizing an internal battery to strengthen parts of the armor that are hit. Of course if something hits you really hard, or you take a fall, you'll lose hp and or "hev juice".

HEV Stations are sort of battery rechargers.

It's an imaginary device that magically repairs itself and cures its wearer of all injuries. I don't think Valve even tried to come up with a plausible explanation for it.

Hmm, Gordon must have a pretty powerful imagination or headcrab blood can make you hallucinate.

Im pretty sure the HEV suit is completely made up. The only thing in real life it resembles is a radiation suit which is made to block alpha and beta radiation, not bullets. In the game, the suit is some sort of reactive armor, which to my knowledge does not exist yet in real life.

You're pretty sure it's made up?

You've got a good imagination. Of course it's made up.

Oh no, no, no, no! The danish police uses those kind of suits AAALL the time!

Ok, I'm kidding...

Well, that and the suit the army is making right now. But other than there imagination and the future of warfare, no basis in reality.

I suppose the nearest real-life thing is the reactive armour that is being developed for tanks (not sure if it's past research stage yet).
