Great book, and I really enjoyed Waking Life so this is basically gonna rock.

from that page

Some day in the future, there will be a new highly addictive drug called Substance D, and the main side effect is that it causes split personalities in all who use it. Drug cop Fred(Keanu Reeves) is working undercover to catch Bob a big-time drug dealer. Little does he realise that he is chasing himself, as Bob is really just one of Fred's many personalities.

oh well cool, now i know what happens i don't have to see it. cheers for the spoiler warning there :p

I went to IMDB and there are posts that claim this was canned due to the death/leaving of the "experts" that were doing the rotoscopping.

Well, since the trailer just came out like 2 days ago, I'm thinking they're still goin' forward.

All you need to know is that Fred and Bob are fighting each other and Fred wins in the end as he is a good guy.

The trailer looks...what the heck was that trailer?

hold on a sec ..where does it say it's based on a Philip K Dick novel/short story? Richard Linklater is the director of Waking life

it's funny that the main character is the weakest actor out of the cast

Well, considering that Phillip K. Dick wrote a story called "A Scanner Darkly" dealing with drugs and split personalities and such, it's a safe bet to say that the film is based on the book.

Not to mention it actually says "Based on the story by Philip K. Dick" in the trailer...
Rotoscoping is a really cool effect, but it seems a bit gimmicky to me. But I guess you couldn't get some of those effect to look as neat without it (eg when he peels of his skin like it's a shirt)

i don't really like the story, but the movie looks awesome.
