Hey I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how this phonetically sounds in japanese: ブレードランナー.

I know it means blade runner but I was wondering what it sounds like if you were to write the sounds out in english what would is look like as in,

good evening= kombungwa

So if someone could tell me that'd be great.

It's called romaji.

Buredo Ranna.

The dashes (ー) mean extend the sound out longer.

Bu reー do ra n naー

I only see this: "ブレードランナー"

I'm assuming you posted boxes, because I can see the letters just fine. You need to have Eastern language support enabled, otherwise yeah, boxes.

Only read hiragana mate (yeah its kinda useless to only know that dialect).

I knew there was a reason I let Windows throw 300MB of Eastern language support onto my C: drive.

Is that why I can't see accented

?

(that was supposed to be a small e with an accent)

or is this because of forum software.

It sounds to me like he's wanting the japonese pronunciation, rather than engrish....
...that IS the Japanese pronounciation. :laugh:

That's literally what he spelled with those letters. Katakana is used for foreign words, translating our words into syllables the Japanese can pronounce. That's what he spelled, that's what I translated.

Milk, I think the accents are a problem with the forum, not language support options.

Sorry I wasn't clear I don't want the japanese pronunciation of blade runner I want the romajii of blade and run or runner seperately.

That is the romaji...just separate them.

Buredo
Ranna

I also recognize the japanese katakana (vaguely...) and I can tell you that it's just the words "Blade Runner" translated into katakana.

Bu - re - e - do - ra - n - na - a.

It's just phoenetical. It's not the Japanese words for "Blade" and "Runner" respectively, or anything like that.

I can break it down further if you want.

ブ = bu.

レ = re.

ー = extension of the last phonetic sound.

ド = do

ラ = ra

ン = n

ナ = na

ー = Extension of the last phonetic sound.

Simple.
