Adding A Custom background

I would like to add a custom menu background to my mod when it loads. How will I do this? I checked VERC, but it only had 3D map menu backgorunds.

hey lawyer i did this on my mod but when it loads it just has black and pink checkered squared on the screen. do you know why this is. could i have created the vtf file wrong. when i made the vtf i just dragged my tga file into the vtex then it made a txt file and i draged them both into vtex and it made a vtf file. also i had the right size and settings for the tga file.

*Shrugs* I've not got around to making a background, I just saved the URL for when I needed it.

I'm leaning on the side of you doing something wrong, though. Start again, from the beginning.
