Adding flares in HL2: EP. 2?

Sorry in advanced if this is a stupid question, I'm really new to map editing.

Ok, so my problem is that I want to have flares on my map, as in the ones you can pick up and throw around on that one elevator map. The only thing I can figure out how to do is place the env_flare on my map, which is just a light effect. Could someone explain to me what to do? I do have Hammer configured for the right game, but I can't find any sort of entity or item to place the flares on there.

I do have reasons to beleive the flare model itself is configured to have a env_flare activated when grabbed. Just like how the explosive barrel explodes without being a complicated entity.

So yeah, try prop_physics with the flare model just like that.
 
Ok, could you possibly explain to me how I would go about on doing that?
 
Create a prop_physics, Set it's physics model to: (Search flare in the search bar).

Press Ok, Then press Apply and close. Compile map, You have your flare.
