I know this is has to be a noob question, but how do I make a map using the Episode 1 content?

When you start up the Source SDK, in the drop-down list at the bottom (probably says "Half-Life 2" by default), select "Half-Life 2: Episode One", then double-click Hammer as usual. :)

No thats the problem, Its not showing up

(I did buy Episode 1, and refreshed SDK content)

Your going to have to run Ep1 at least once before trying to use the tools with it. If you have, and it still isn't showing up in the drop-down box post back and I'll walk you through hand-makig a configuration.

Your also going to need a new FGD with entity updates. Get ts2do's from http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Fgd it's at the bottom of the page. There's a readme in there to tell you where to install it to.

Now, your also going to have to extract the episode 1 shared.gcf where all the new models, materials, etc. for episode 1 are stored. Use Nem's GCFScape: http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=25

Launch GCFScape, open up the episode 1 shared.gcf, and right click on episodic in the right hand pane. Then extract to \steamapps\<username>\half-life 2 episode 1 don't worry, it wont replace the episodic folder that is already there, only add files to it.

Now, you should probably restart steam.

Launch Hammer with Episode 1 selected in the drop down box and go to Tools>Options in the menu bar. Where it says game data files, click on the only one listed, which should be $SteamUserDir\sourcesdk\bin\halflife2.fgd and click remove. Then click add and select halflife2_ts2do_ep1.fgd

And your all good.
