adding HL2DM maps to SDS ??? help me..

When I create an internet server through Steam I can only use the pre-installed maps, dm_runoff, dm_powerhouse etc.

Can I add new maps?

How?

I've been looking for about an hour now, but I can't find the solution. I used to know it, though. You need to change some settings with the settings.src file and the GameServerConfig.vdf.

I've been looking for weeks and the information just doesn't seem to be there, really strange.

All I want is to host a basic server so me and a few friends can play on the amazing custom maps that are out there for HL2. It doesn't have to be public but it does have to be over the internet.

The tutorials I've found for setting up a Source dedicated server for running HL2DM are way over my head and also seem incomplete, maybe they assume a level of competence or familiarity that I don't have.

Is there no simple way to do this?

Ok I did it!! Problem solved with a big portion of help from the Steam forums. For anyone who's interested there are 2 simple ways to create a HL2DM server, 1 shows up on the internet server list and is public and the other way uses a Virtual Private Network program called Hamachi, See thread:
